Larijani condemns Medina terrorist blast

TEHRAN, Jul. 05 (MNA) – Parliament speaker has condemned terrorist suicide attack which hit Saudi holy city of Medina on Monday evening.

“Terrorist blast in Al-Qatif near Medina and beside the holy Mosque of Prophet was source of disappointment and grief; this terrorist attack is even more shameless since it desecrated the sanctity of the holy place such as Prophet’s shrine,” Larijani said who was supervising Parliament open session on Tuesday .

“Iran has reiterated in many occasions that a strategic error of judgement lies in using terrorism as instruments to achieve political ends; those countries relying upon this device are the losers of their own subterfuge, since their supported groups would return to create active threats to these countries as well,” Larijani criticized supporters of terrorism.

“We hope that these events would enlighten the people as well as governments in the region, giving them better insights to the nature of terrorism and a motivation to promote unity among Muslims.”

Ali Larijani also condemned Al-Karada market explosions in Baghdad who killed and wounded 400 innocent citizens. “Terrorists’ conduct of such barbarity indicates their frustration of several defeats on the grounds in Fallujah and elsewhere in Iraq; we offer condolences to Iraqi government and people for the event, and hope Iraqi people will find more future success in keeping terrorists in check and defeating and destroying of them,” he told the Parliament.
